Part of our mission is to provide a free and unique educational resource to the educators, students and parents of West Virginia. WVLifeandRec.Com is age and content appropriate for many reference and research needs of teachers and students at the secondary/post secondary level, as well as for teachers at the pre-school and elementary level. We take care to ensure that all content and links are clean and safe. WVLifeandRec.Com is continually updated to ensure that links are not corrupted and content is fresh. However, you should always exercise reasonable caution with the internet, as users may be able to access unintended content. Please take look at the various sections in WVLifeandRec.Com to see which parts work best for you. I hope you will contact me with any comments or suggestions, as we value your opinions. If you like what we are doing, please pass the word to your friends and colleagues. Most sincerely, West Virginia Life and Recreation

WELCOME! WVLifeandRec.Com (aka West Virginia Life and Recreation) is published by Appalachian Institute, Inc. as a comprehensive, free, premium-quality, information resource that is geared to West Virginia. Hence the moniker - WV's Online Magazine and Knowledge Portal. We have taken on this project because we believe that an educational website dedicated to WV (with significant depth, breadth, and relevance) can play an important role in helping a truly beautiful state to become an even better place to learn, work, play, and thrive. Students, teachers, hobbyists, families, residents, potential residents, businesses, and visitors to West Virginia make up a large portion of our sizable reader base. This makes us very happy. Tell me what I need to know. Tell me what I want to know. WVLifeandRec.Com still has some incomplete sections and will always be a work in progress. You may appreciate the fact that we do not engage in pop-up advertising, donation requests, or personal data mining, nor are we compromised by the limitations associated with most government or commercial sites. WVLifeandRec.Com is integral to the mission of Appalachian Institute, which is to enhance social and economic health in the Appalachian region. To this end, WVLifeandRec.Com maintains a special focus on 7 broad areas of relevance to West Virginia.
For WVLifeandRec.Com to succeed in its overall mission, we need the input and support of every West Virginian who has access to the internet. As editor, my goal is to earn you as one of our regular and enthusiastic users. Your candid and thoughtful input is greatly appreciated. Please email me your observations and suggestions on any topic. Most sincerely, West Virginia Life and Recreation
